Games Workshop Unveils Exciting New Releases for Warhammer 40K and Black Library
This Saturday, February 22, 2025, Games Workshop is set to release a range of exciting new products for Warhammer 40,000 and Black Library fans. Whether you’re looking to expand your tabletop army or dive into the latest lore, there’s plenty to get excited about.
The Astra Militarum takes center stage this weekend with the release of their new Codex, priced at approximately $55. This essential guidebook provides updated lore, unit profiles, and unique army rules to enhance your battles. Accompanying the Codex is the new Astra Militarum Combat Patrol Box, offering a fantastic way to start or expand an Imperial Guard force. At an estimated price of $168, this set includes a Command Squad, 20 Cadian Shock Troops, a Sentinel walker, and two Field Ordnance Batteries. Individually, these models would cost around $252, meaning hobbyists can save about $84 by purchasing them as a bundle.
To complete the Astra Militarum experience, players can also pick up a themed Dice Set for $35 and a Datasheet Cards Pack for $25, making it easier to reference unit stats and abilities mid-game.

For those who enjoy the narrative side of Warhammer, Black Library is delivering a wave of new novels this weekend. "Verminslayer" by David Guymer follows Gotrek Gurnisson as his fiery rune malfunctions, leading him to the industrial city of Greywater Fastness, where a Skaven conspiracy threatens disaster. This hardback release is expected to be priced at $30.
Dan Abnett fans can look forward to two new releases. "Interceptor City" ($27) takes readers to the hive city of Vesperus, following a squadron on high-stakes missions through its dangerous urban sprawl. Meanwhile, "Double Eagle" returns in hardback, chronicling the intense aerial battles between Imperial and Chaos pilots on the war-torn planet of Enothis.

Additionally, the classic "Siege of Vraks" is being re-released in paperback for around $20, detailing the infamous war between the Imperium and Chaos forces on the armory world of Vraks. For collectors, the "Outer Dark" Special Edition is available at $60, featuring an exclusive cover and bonus content for Warhammer 40K enthusiasts.

With pre-orders opening on February 22, these releases offer something for both tabletop gamers and lore aficionados alike. Whether you’re bolstering your Astra Militarum forces or diving into gripping Warhammer fiction, this weekend’s lineup is packed with exciting additions to the Warhammer universe.
